With this year being the anniversary of the first mission to the moon, I wanted to try my best to faithfully recreate the Apollo 11 Space Capsule. I first wanted to match the photo, once I'm happy with the match - then get creative with shot lighting.
When working on personal projects, If I can, I'll always make the effort to visit and take my own photographic reference of the asset I'm trying to recreate, in this instance I found this space capsule in the London Science Museum so I took the trip. Being able to take your own primary photo reference is not only hugely beneficial because you can take high resolution photos and if you shoot in RAW, you're also able to capture much more colour information compared to an image you just downloaded online - very useful when you're aiming to match reference.
No scan, modeled to photos by hand for model accuracy.
